Is your event right for the calendar?

The Events Calendar is not intended to be a promotion channel for every type of engagement available at Stanford. There are simply too many options available to the community for us to reasonably display all of them.

Best Practices for Classification

The Events Calendar system has an extensive, flexible system for classifying your events. Careful selection of appropriate values for each taxonomy will help Event Seekers find your events and also serve to make it easier for users to build well-crafted Widgets and RSS feeds.

Promote Your Events

Many factors can influence your position in that homepage section. We’ve written a how-to guide on increasing exposure and raising your EventScore.

Edit Group, Department, and Place Pages

When a Group or Department is added to the Events Calendar system, a basic landing page is automatically created for them which includes the type of entity (Group or Department), name of the entity, a link to follow, and a list of upcoming events if there are any scheduled.

How to add co-sponsors

Event Admins are granted the ability to post events on behalf of specific departments/groups – those you requested when you first gained admin access to the system.

Approving Followers

The Localist platform allows end users to follow people, locations, and departments/organizations.

How do I cancel an event?

Not every event planned is an event executed, and we need a way to let folks know that we have a cancellation.
